Be Good Ambassadors Of Your Alma Mater, Ossai Charges School Leavers

MBIRI/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Primary Education, Mr. Chika Ossai has charged graduating students of the Command Secondary School, Mbiri in Ika North East Local Government Area of the state to be good ambassadors of their alma mata.
Mr. Ossai gave the advice at Mbiri during the 11th Annual Graduation/ Price giving day ceremony of the school.
The commissioner,  who was represented by his Technical Assistant and an Assistant Director in the state Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Michael Emeshili , urged the graduants and the entire students of the school to shun social vices in order not to jeopardise their future.
Mr. Ossai, who was speaking as a special guest, thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the infrastructural development in the school, especially the completed successfully classroom block, perimeter fencing and provision of students’ chairs and desks .
Earlier, the Commandant of the school, Major PG Agbai said that the school had continued to maintain its distinct role of training and moulding the lives of young Nigerians coming out of primary school into intelligent, disciplined , industrious and hardworking young students as well as good citizens.
Major Agbai stated that the school had contributed immensely to the educational development of Nigerian youths , adding that CSS Mbiri was rated among the best command school as well as one of the best secondary schools in Nigeria due to its enviable records in academics and leadership training.
He said that Command Secondary School, Mbiri would continue to deliver on its mandates and support all actions aimed at providing quality education and promote high standard of discipline.
In a lecture presentation, a renowned educationist, Dr. Peter Onyekowe lauded the organisers of the event for considering it fit and proper to equip the graduating students with parting academic advice capable of propelling them to life-transforming decisions that could reset their mindsets for good.
Dr. Onyekonwe noted that the worth and value of education had faced a downturn devaluation in the face of intimidating misguided regards and elevated societal value for ill-gotten wealth which had tempted studious academics and graduates to regret their choice of academic work and vision.
He enjoined the graduating students to abstain from any form of criminality and pursue their academic dreams with renewed vigour, adding that they should display high sense of discipline and integrity at all times.
