ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated former Governor of the state, Chief James Ibori, Prof. Chief Sam Ejite Oyovbaire, and Chief Anthony Akhakon Anenih as they mark their birthdays respectively
Okowa, who through his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu extolled each of the political leaders praised them for the development and survival of democracy in the country.
Congratulating Ibori as he turns 60 years today Saturday, August 4, 2018, the statement extolled the enigmatic political prowess of his former boss, describing him as a political colossus, astute administrator and an enthusiastic leader of impeccable disposition.
While noting the sterling and legendary contributions of Chief Ibori to the political development of Delta State and Nigeria, the Governor added that the Ibori political philosophy which has endeared him to Deltans and beyond will remain a subject of research by contemporary political watchers.
The Governor paid glowing tribute to Chief Ibori for championing the fight for Resource Control and Fiscal Federalism in Nigeria.
Okowa said: “My distinguished leader, that Oil producing states of the Niger Delta are enjoying 13% Derivation today is unarguably due to your indefatigable role as a champion of Resource Control and Fiscal Federalism.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I felicitate with a leader par excellence, Chief James Ibori, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
“The immeasurable and invaluable contributions you have made to national development is indelible in the minds of Deltans and Nigerians. Your life symbolises the assured reward for single-minded commitment to the ideals of diligence, humility, perseverance, focus and dedicated service”.
“Your uncommon leadership qualities, courage, and evident faith in the peace, unity, progress, and prosperity of our dear nation have seen you remain one of Nigeria’s most highly respected political icons over the years”.
“Deltans and Nigerians cannot forget in a hurry how you laboured to build the most virile, potent and unassailable political family in Delta State and beyond even as your legacies still dot the nooks and crannies of the state”.
“As you clock 60 years today, It is our prayer that God will continue to protect you and grant you good health to render more services to mankind.” He said
Oyovbaire At 77, ‘Political Father’
while felicitating with former Minister of Information and Chairman of the Delta State Advisory Council, Prof. Chief Sam Ejite Oyovbaire on the occasion of his 77th birthday anniversary on, August 4, 2018, Governor Okowa extolled the astute contributions of the renowned Professor of Political Science towards the realization of the SMART Agenda of his administration, as well as the development of Delta State and Nigeria in general.
Governor Okowa said he was grateful to God for giving him Prof. Oyovbaire as a “Political father” and prayed God to grant him more wisdom as he continues to contribute to the growth of Delta State.
Okowa said, “On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I felicitate with my political father, a party stalwart and leader of inestimable value, Prof. Chief Sam Ejite Oyovbaire on the occasion of his 77th birthday anniversary.
“Over the years, you have given yourself to the cause of peace and development in Delta State and Nigeria in general. For this, we owe you an enduring debt of gratitude. Your life symbolizes the assured reward for single-minded commitment to the ideals of diligence, humility, perseverance, focus and dedicated service.
“As you deservedly celebrate this birthday anniversary, it is my prayer that Almighty God continues to bless you with robust health and many more years of happiness.

Anenih At 85
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in a wind of birthday messages, also extended his wishes to the former Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Anthony Akhakon Anenih, CFR as he turns 85 years on 4th August, 2018.
In a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu, Governor Okowa extolled the leadership qualities and astute contributions of Chief Anenih to nation building.
Gov. Okowa further described the Iyasele of Esan land as a patriotic Nigerian and a gentleman par excellence, a team player and above all, a God fearing Nigerian.
Okowa said, “On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I extend very warm felicitations to you as you turn 85 years on Saturday, the 4th of August, 2018”.
“Given your commitment to the common good, as well as your uncommon wisdom and unwavering dedication to the sustained growth and development of our dear nation, it is my prayer that Almighty God continues to imbue you with robust health and enduring strength in the many years of fulfillment ahead of you.
