WARRI/Nigeria: It was a moment of celebration and praise singing, at Life Covenant Bible Church, Int’l Jeddo, as the Founder/General Overseer of the church, Bishop (Dr.) Mcpherson Onoriode and his wife, Bishop (Dr.) Mcpherson Onoriode, joyfully thanked God for His mercy and protection upon their lives and family.

Speaking in an emotion ladden voice, Bishop. Mcpherson recalled the moments of God’s mercy upon his life, noting that God delivered him from a trumped up charges levelled against him by security operatives in 2012. Continuing, the cleric told the congregation that God’s divine mercy rescued him from death in 2017 when he had a ghastly motor accident.
“I escaped death by the whiskers in 2017 when I had a ghastly motor accident and my car was damaged beyond repair. But for His divine mercy, I would’ve been dead,” he stated.
Rev. Mcpherson also appreciated God for rescuing his wife from the cold hands of death, while she was being delivered of a baby this year.
He said, “I thank God for rescuing my wife from the claws of death at the hospital where she had gone to give birth to my baby. It was simply by God’s divine mercy that my wife is alive today. I recall that few minutes after my wife had been delivered of the baby, she suddenly had serious complication which eventually relapsed into an emergency case. But our good Lord was on guard to preserve her precious life.”
Adding, “It is God’s mercy and divine favour that has upheld us all these years.” The joy of Rev’d Mrs. Endurance Onoriode new no bounds as she knelt at the altar and praised God in soul elevating songs.
Overwhelmed by the heart-wrenching testimonies, the congregation danced and praised God for His goodness.
In his sermon which dwelt on “grace and glory”, the guest preacher, Bishop elect, Paul Efeoghene urged Christians to build strong faith in God, saying that the grace of God will wipe away temptations and suffering that Christians are going through. He urged the congregation to seek God’s grace in all their endeavours. The cleric prayed that, “as Jesus went up, so shall your problems and every power of disappointment disappear.”
In her speech, wife of Okpe LGA Chairman, Mrs. Eunice Julius Scott, charged Christians to worship God faithfully and seek his divine counsels always, stating that God’s love upon Christians is awesome.
She called on the Christian community to play an active role in politics and government, even as she urged them to perform their civic rights by voting at elections in order to elect the right persons into public offices. Mrs. Scott charged Christians in Okpe LGA to visit the voter registration centres in the council and get their PVCs.
The highpoint of the occasion was dedication of baby Bishop (Dr.) Mcpherson Onoriode to God which was conducted by Bishop Dr. Isaac Etibia JP+
