Kaduna: The Kaduna International Airport which until last week, served as an alternative for Abuja bound passengers may be out of use for a while as a result of damages to its communication gadgets on Thursday.
It was reliably gathered that the first rainfall witnessed by Kaduna metropolis this year came with mixed blessings as residents were celebrating the down pour, others who were bound to land at the airport were left stranded as it was gathered that airlines billed to land could not connect the communication centre of the airport.
Big Brother Nigeria (BBN) star, Bally, was expected to touch down at the airport on board Azman Airline, but was told that his flight had been cancelled.
According to close sources to the star, he was told to reschedule the flight for Friday, but one of them who spoke on phone with his manager, said that he said they were told outrightly that it was not certain the damages could be fixed before Friday morning.
As an alternative, Bally and his crew then opted for a flight to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, where some of his fans are already planning to hit the Abuja-Kaduna Highway on Thursday night to go and welcome him.
One of the fans said that it was unfortunate that Bally’s flight could not land in Kaduna after all the arrangements they put in place to give him a befitting welcome.
“We will now mobilize and receive him at the NYSC Camp along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway on tomorrow morning (Friday),” he disclosed.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that thousands of his fans were already at the airport to welcome him but went back home disappointed by the flight cancellation.
As at the time of filing this report, it was not certain if Bally had landed in Abuja or not, but the fans have vowed to welcome him with a carnival like procession.
Efforts to confirm the development with authorities at the airport proved abortive.
