Breaking: Kidnapped Traditional Ruler Rescued from Herdsmen in Delta

Aboh: The Vigilante group in Ossissa Community in Ndokwa East LGA of Delta State in the early hours of today, 22 December recued a traditional ruler of Agbarha Kingdom, Delta State, Orhifi Enemor II, kidnapped on 21 December, 2016 on his way to Asaba for the State Traditional Rulers Council meeting, at the Ossissa Bridge.

According to information reaching the Newsroom of Ndokwa Reporters, the rescue was made possible through the efforts of the Ossissa vigilantes who intercepted some groups of herdsmen leading the abducted traditional ruler across the  bridge, and after exchange of gun shots was able to rescue the traditional ruler, who was later handed over to the police in the area.

A call to the Delta State Police Spokesman in the early hours of this morning confirmed the rescue, of the yet to be named traditional ruler.

Ossissa area in Ndokwa east had been a hotspot of attacks by the Fulani herdsmen in recent times, which resulted in an agreement between the community, the Local Government Council, and the security agencies directing that the cattle’s should be removed from the Ossissa community.

On 1 December, 2016, one Mr Victor Bini was attacked with cutlass by Fulani herdsmen at the Umuawere forest within the same community.
