KOKO/Nigeria: The CanaanLand Golf Course and Country Club has rolled out an ambitious lineup of activities to commemorate its second anniversary, headlined by an international-standard 18-hole golf tournament designed to attract both professional and amateur players from within and outside Nigeria.

The tournament, scheduled to hold from Friday, May 8 to Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Koko Town, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, is expected to serve as a major sporting and networking platform, bringing together top golfers, investors and key stakeholders.

Chairman of the club, Honourable Felix Aganbi, in a statement issued in Benin, underscored the broader economic and social impact of the anniversary celebration, highlighting investment opportunities in Delta State, the steady growth of golf in Nigeria, youth development initiatives, and enhanced collaboration between public and private sector actors.

According to him, “The second anniversary of CanaanLand Golf & Country Club will bring together business leaders, corporate stakeholders, public office holders, community leaders, sportsmen and women from within and outside the country.”

Describing the celebration as “inclusive and remarkable,” Aganbi noted that the club has, within two years, successfully repositioned golf from an elite pastime into a more accessible recreational activity across the Niger Delta.

He pointed to the club’s steady expansion, including the development of modern facilities, sustained investment in junior and academy programmes, promotion of amateur and recreational golf, as well as growing real estate prospects in Koko.

Beyond golf, the anniversary will feature a range of side attractions including table tennis, badminton and darts competitions, alongside a community-focused give-back initiative offering eye care services and comprehensive health checks at the Christiana Aganbi Sickbay.

Other highlights include an anniversary meeting, high-level networking sessions for local and international investors, a boat cruise, refreshments and an award presentation ceremony.

The statement also emphasized improvements in infrastructure within the club and noted the increasing participation of women and young people in golf and other recreational activities.

Key facilities at the CanaanLand Golf Course and Country Club include an 18-hole golf course, a modern clubhouse, recreational areas, the Khashoggi Restaurant offering a lakeside dining experience, relaxation gazebos, a smart hall for events and indoor activities, Chris Castle Apartments for accommodation, the Christiana Aganbi Sickbay, as well as badminton and table tennis courts.
