UBEJI/Nigeria: Reverend Father Cletus Enwefah, the Catholic Parish Priest of St. Theresa’s Parish, Ubeji in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, delivered a fervent call to action during his Sunday homily themed “Unclean Spirit.” Inspired by the biblical account at Mark 1:21-28, Fr. Enwefah passionately implored Nigerians to cast aside the malevolent spirits of corruption, nepotism, and tribalism.
In his address, Fr. Enwefah underscored the detrimental impact of these vices on the nation’s growth and development. He emphasized that tribalism, nepotism, and corruption constituted the very demons obstructing Nigeria’s path to developmental prosperity.
Highlighting the gravity of these societal issues, Fr. Enwefah stated that the realization of the nation’s aspirations hinged on individuals liberating themselves spiritually from the clutches of corruption and other destructive tendencies.
Rev’d Fr. Enwefah articulated that Nigeria’s journey towards becoming the envisioned nation of citizens’ collective desire necessitated a collective rejection of these nefarious forces. He called for a united front against corruption, emphasizing that the nation’s true potential could only be unlocked through a concerted effort to eradicate these social ills.
Further, Fr. Enwefah urged the faithful and all well-meaning Nigerians to actively participate in dismantling the barriers hindering national progress. He concluded by asserting that a united stand against corruption, nepotism, and tribalism was crucial for steering Nigeria towards a future of collective prosperity.
