The Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State Chief Emmanuel Ighomena has commended members of Oghara Elite Forum (OEF) for their foresight and commitment towards the development of Oghara Kingdom.
Chief Ighomena, the chairman and managing director of the Amena Hotels situated in Oghareki, Delta State while fielding questions from newsmen in his office at Oghara, said the award given to the deserving sons and daughters of the Kingdom including himself is one of the landmark achievers of the group in recent times, while urging them not to relent their effort but to forge ahead and do more for their people.
The calm and soft spoken politician said he would not want to go into details of how much he has done for his people which propelled the forum in given him the award, yet he only wanted to enumerated few of his achievements in the community which include a formidable private hospital in Ethiope West at Oghareki, which he built and handed over to a Catholic Mission, where thousands of persons are now working as well as where lives are been saved on daily basis.
He added that he equally built a primary school at Oghareki and handed over to the same Catholic Mission where people are also working as the pupils coming out from that school are doing excellently well in their chosen career including a female boarding secondary school (our ladies of Nigeria School), stressing that he has been able to touch lives of the people in his community, educationally, medically.
The PDP vice chairman said he has also touched the life of the people through his personal businesses known as Amena Hotel and Pure Water Bottling Company where he pay thousands of staff monthly (graduates and non-graduates alike).
He added that the honour given him is an honour that was long over due because he had already been honoured by the Benin Province of the Catholic Mission about 4 years ago at Uselu-Uku when they selected true Catholics that had done things positively to touch the lives of people within and outside their immediate environment.
Chief Ighomena maintained further that politically, they have brought in several projects into the community, which complimented those of Chief James Onanefe Ibori, adding that during his time as an Honourable Member of the House, he had done well including others appointed and elected from the community have also done well in their own area, just as he commended all Oghara people for living in Oghara irrespective of their status to move Oghara and Urhobo forward.
He commended Oghara Elite forum for doing the community proud by supporting the government of the community as well as their unalloyed support to the current Governor of Delta State Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Chief James Ibori when he was in power, advising them to continue the more, most importantly since they only use their pressure group for the development of the community but never to attack the governor of the state.
He called on them to always reward those that are doing well while commending the president and all the members for their steadfastness and performances all over the years they have been in existence most especially for them to have recognized all those who have worked hard for the development of the community.
In their separate responses, Hon. Austin Atomre, the personal assistant to Chief Ighomena and Mr. Oghenedoro Okuwere joined their boss in commending the efforts of the Oghara Elite Forum for the award given to their boss and as well for their commitment in doing what is good for the people instead of attacking government’s policy and programmes.
He added that the honour/award given to their boss is long over due, because from the very beginning, he has been doing good things to the community by helping the community, politically in terms of development, employment and other business that put smiles on the faces of their people.
Mr. Okuwere said the award given his boss is a mark of his contribution which he was appreciated for, while thanking those who deem it fit to award their boss for doing good things for his people.
