Ezhionum: A community development group, Umu Ezhionum Forum from Ezhionum, in Ukwuani LGA of Delta State, had honoured some of their sons and daughters for outstanding and excellent performance and their selfless service to Ezhionum community.
The recipients expressed total fulfillment and joy towards the organizers of the program. One of the recipients, Chief Mrs. Felicia Atuma Sani OON the Nne Ka Nne of Ezhionum Kingdom whose through sole efforts restored electricity to the community said the award came to her by surprise, she applauded the efforts of Umu Ezhionum Forum for the initiative of recognizing performances, she said the initiative will serve as an encouragement to others.
Other recipients expressed joy and urged Umu Ezhionum not to relent efforts as the move will bring more development to the community.
Chief Timothy Umukoro the Odekem 1 of Ezhionum Kingdom similarly showered praises on the awardees and further urged Umu Ezhionum Forum to continue with what they have started. In his word he said “recognising individual efforts as never happened in the history of Ezhionum but today, Umu Ezhionum has set the pace, we will continue to support you to ensure the initiative is sustained”
The guest speaker Vincent Ojeh PhD hammered on the need for people to cultivate and imbibe the spirit of patriotism.
The Commissioner for Water Resources who is from Ezhionum amongst other dignitaries graced the event.
