ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State House of Assembly member representing Aniocha South Constituency, Hon. Austin Chikezie has assured Deltans that, the Delta State Governor-Elect Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, will do well as governor.
Honorable Chikezie gave this assurance while speaking to the DTHA house Correspondents in Asaba, the state capital.
He described Oborevwori, who is the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, as a natural leader.
Chikezie said that Oborevwor was skilful at managing crises, adding that his personal relationships with every member of the house was cordial.
“I want to thank God for the life of our Speaker, and I want to say that throughout my stay in the house till this very moment, I see Mr. Speaker as somebody who is a natural leader, a born leader who knows how to manage crisis, and he is equally a level headed personality, in terms of his relationship with members; he has personal relationship with every member of the house.
“And I have no doubt he will do extremely well as Delta State Governor “.
He expressed so much confidence that the Speaker will deliver democratic dividends to Deltans, due to the way he has piloted the affairs of the state assembly.
He described the state house of assembly as a mini Delta State, where all the Local Government Areas are represented, and for him to have been able to manage all members of the house without descending voices, is an indication that he will manage Delta State very well.
“In the first place, I know that, haven’t piloted the affairs of the State House of Assembly, the assembly is a mini Delta, where all the tribes, all the town’s, and all the local governments are represented. So what we have in Delta State, is replicated in the State House of Assembly.
“For him to have been able to manage all of this without descending voices is an indication that he will manage delta state well, ” he said.
Hon. Chikezie also outlined his expectations from the governor-elect, adding that Deltans should expect more from him.
“I expect openness from him like he has always done, I advise he continue with his level headedness, he continue with his grassroots approach to issues, just like must of the time you see him flowing with everybody in the house, people hardly know if there is APC member in the house, because we speak in one voice and even now we still speak in one voice in the house, so I expect Deltans to be more United under him.
“I expect the prevailing peace in delta to continue, I expect him to continue in the same direction of our Leader, the Governor of Delta State Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, i expect him to continue with road network that our governor is doing, I expect him to enhance agricultural development, and I expect him to also continue in the health development like our governor is doing,” he said.
He congratulated the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for giving PDP the leadership at the time of the gubernatorial elections.
