Children’s Day: Ukwuani Local Government Prays for the Early Release of the Chibok Girls

In solidarity with the abducted Chibok School girls, the Ukwuani Local Government Council celebrated this year’s Children Days celebration praying for the safe and early release of the abducted students.
In his address to the gathering, the Chairman of the Council, Hon Ochor C. Ochor reflecting on the theme of this year’s celebration, which is “Unite for Peace of Nigeria Unite for Children”. The Chairman called on Nigerians to unite to fight all forms of crime against the child. He specifically pointed out that the celebration cannot be full with over 200 Nigerian children been away from their parents and protective authourity for more than a month.
The address which was read by, the Vice Chairman, Hon Uti, was full of action to lead the way for the Nigerian Child to grow with a positive mind set for the future. Since they are the future of the Country. In his words “I wish to whole-heartedly say that before the children of today-our jewels will be able to move Nigeria forward in the not too distant future, they need to be imbued with the right qualitative education by all standards, that which will be guided by moral and behovoural principles that will foster the unity of us all.”
The celebration which was shelved off the usual match past ,cultural and gymnastic displays, was wholly devoted to prayer for security in the nation, safe and early release of the Chibok girls abducted by the members of Boko Haram sects since April 14, 2014.
The occasion was graced by men and women of God in Ukwuani Local Government Council. The prayer session was led by Pastor Emeni.
