ABOH/Nigeria: Christians all over the world has been enjoined to give thanks and honour to the glory of God always at all situations.
The Parish Priest of Ndokwa Denary, Reverend Father Vincent Owoaka, gave the advice during his sermon at the St Peters Catholic Church Iselegu, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Delta State, at a thanksgiving service by eighteen female members of Mr. Chika Ossai Support Group that survived a ghastly motor accident recently.
The clergy also charged Christians on the need for God to be celebrated in thanksgiving as that is the only way to give back to Him for the all His goodness.
He said, “The world need peace and mankind must allow God to use them to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in the world that way everyone will become an agents of peace”.
Rev Father Owoaka who commended Mr. Ossai and members of his support group for recognizing God’s favour, congratulated the accident victims survivals, saying, “”With this special mercy of God on you, I urge you to use this occasion and Grace of God upon you to work for God”.
The Commissioner in his welcome address said, “God has shown me, members of the group and political associate mercy. The news of the accident destabilised me, but God took in His mercy took charge of what could have turned to a fatal situation”.
He also used the occasion to call on Deltans to continue to invest in evangelism for bountiful harvests. Said, “The thanksgiving was the only way to appreciate God for the lives of those involved in the near fatal motor accident”.
The thanksgiving was attended by member represting Bomadi constituency Hon Asupa Fortetea, the Commissioner for Finance Mr Fidelis Tilijie and his Culture and Tourism counterpart Mr Lawrence Ejiofor, as well as Chairman of Mr Chika Ossai Support group and DESOPADEC Commissioner Mr Ikechukwu Akozor.
