SAPELE/Nigeria: As part of giving back to the society and service to humanity, Face To Face Assembly, Sapele has donated chairs to the Maternity Ward of Central Hospital, Sapele.
It was gathered that the gesture was to help in solving the lack of chairs at the maternity ward and the need to support the effort of the Delta State Government, as the government alone cannot meet all needs of the sectors in the state.
Teacher Happy Overah, the head of the Face To Face Assembly said he was moved by a scene he saw when they visited the maternity ward, where they saw over many women seating on bare floor as a result of lack of chairs as the available chairs could not go round.
Teacher Overah said he then approached the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Ese Ojoma, who told him that maternity care in Delta State is free, and lots of pregnant women take advantage of it and come in their numbers for maternity care, and since the available chairs cannot go round, many are bound to seat on bare floor.
Overah also pointed out that outside this experience, giving to the society and meeting the needs of others gives him fulfilment, blessings and an avenue of walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ who when on Earth, not only cared for spiritual needs of others, but also their physical needs.
Again, it is an avenue to reach out to the unsafe and to pray for the sick.
Teacher Overah said the Church hoped to do more in the near future as they are used to.
He hinted that the church also operate Two Big Free schools in Sapele, where pupils and Students do not pay fees.
Their books and uniforms are provided free to them. This to allow all have access to basic Education and lack of money should not be an hindrance.
Highlight of the event was the handing over of the chairs to the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Ese Ojoma.
