OKPANAM/Nigeria: A religious leader, Rev. Fr. Paul Adione of St. Molumba Catholic Church, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State has stressed the need for couples to always love and tolerate each other in order to succeed in their marriages.
Rev. Fr. Adione, who made the call in Okpanam during the blessing of the marriage ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Friday Chiemeke , noted that many families had broken as a result of the inability of the husband and wife to tolerate each other.
The Clergy also identified third party influence as another factor that could impact negatively on marriages and advised them to avoid things that would bring shame to their marriage.
While saying that it was important for the couple to come to the church for the blessing of the marriage after their court marriage, the reverred man of God stated that the blessing was the seal of the sacrament of their matrimony since no traditional marriage was done.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the blessing of their marriage, the groom , Mr. Friday Chiemeke, who thanked the church and well wishers for finding time identify with them , said that he was happy to have married to a virtuous woman and described the wife , Mrs. Mary Anne Chiemeke as a woman of substance just as the wife , Mrs. Mary Anne Chiemeke stated that the husband’s humility ,care and love attracted her .
Mrs. Chiemeke pledged to be loyal to her husband at all times, adding that she would always put her trust in God for the continued success of their marriage.
