OKPANAM/Nigeria: The need for every individual on earth to surrender their lives to God and strive to abstain from sins as well as impact positively on the lives of their fellow human beings has been stressed.
A cleric with the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners’ Chapel, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Pastor Chukwuma Obasi gave the advice in sermon during the burial ceremony of the Diokpa-Isi of Ogbe-Ojie community in Okpanam, late Ogbueshi Paul Okolie Acha who passed on at the age of 94 years.
Pastor Obasi, who described the deceased as a very committed servant of God even at old age, said that late Ogbueshi Paul Okolie Acha was kind-hearted and humble.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of Ogbe-Ojie Youths, Comrade Ofuasia Amamize Daniel and Elder Emmanuel Odeh from Amachai Quarters, both in Okpanam said that the deceased was a man of truth at all times and advised the children to sustain the legacies of their father.
While describing Ogbueshi Paul Okolie Acha as a dependable community leader whose track records and achievements were worthy of emulation, Comrade Ofuasia said that his guiding principles had continued to see him through in the leadership of youths in the community.
Also speaking, a Senior Special Assistant to Govrnor Ifeanyi Okowa on Political Matters, Mr. Innocent Uchibuolu eulogised the nonagenarian for his efforts towards ensuring peace and unity in Ogbe-Ojie community, adding that his contributions to the success of the People’s Democratic ( PDP) was commendable just as he urged the children to remain united in their family.
In an interview with newsmen, some children of the deceased including the first son, Mr. Chiedu Okolie, Mrs. Isioma Okeze, Mr. Prince Okolie and his son in law, Comrade Chukwuemeka Okolie who is chairman of Okpanam Vigilante said that the demise of their father had created vacuum in the family, adding that their father gave them the needed foundation in life.
They pledged to sustain the legacies of their father, saying that he was their pillar.
