Bishop Justus Mogekwu
ASABA/Nigeria: Alumni associations have been charged to seek ways of improving their Alma-Mater.
The declaration was made by the Bishop of Asaba Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Bishop Justus Mogekwu when he received desks from Anglican Girls Grammar School, Asaba, Great Britain and Ireland zone.
Bishop Mogekwu said alumni association should partner with their institutions to improve on the well being of schools.
He appealed to well spirited individuals and corporate organizations to emulate gesture by doing more as administration of school should be a collective effort.
Speaking on behalf of Great Britain and Ireland zone, Mrs Ijeoma Popo explained that the gesture was borne out of their desire to give back to their beloved alma mater.
She said that the zone after interacting with the school on their needs decided to furnish eight (8) classrooms with desk and chair.
Mrs Popo noted that the Anglican Girls Grammar School, Asaba shaped them into being notable people in the society.
On her part, the Director of Schools in the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs Hope Igumbor, commended the alumni association for the donation.
The highpoints of the occasion were the presentation of the donated items and offering of prayers.
