Koko/Nigeria: Field officers drawn from the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state, working in Koko, have been denied access to the clock-in/out machine due to the non-availability of the device.
The device which was assigned to a field officer, Pastor Theophillous Oghoro from the Ministry of Women Affairs Community and Social Development, is meant to cover officers from the various MDAs such as Ministries of Information, Agriculture and Natural resources, Transport Directorate of Youth Development.
Speaking to some officers who were affected by the situation, an officer from the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr Marshall Omasteye, said that he called Heckabella in Asaba, to intimate them of the situation, and was instructed not to clock -in from another device in his work location.
According to him, Heckabella advised that he should start signing in on a time book, until they were able to retrieve the said device from the Officer in charge who investigation revealed, was abruptly posted to Udu Local Government Council.
On her part, the Chief Agric Officer from the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources field office, Mrs Julie Umeh, expressed disappointment at the situation, calling on those in charge of the exercise to effect the necessary change so that staff affected would not be counted as absentees.
The public enlightenment officer from the Ministry of Information, Miss Boyo Temi, who said she made frantic calls to Heckabella in Asaba to brief them on the predicament of officers attached to the device, revealed that she was yet to get any response from them.
As at the time of filing this report other officers assigned to the said device were still trying to put calls through to Heckabella to remedy the situation.
