AGBOR/Nigeria: The Interact club of Monyei Memorial Foundation School has organized a de-worming exercise for pupils of Owa Model Primary School, Boji Boji Owa where over 500 pupils benefitted.
Speaking at the event, Rotarian Nkechi Odum, President Elect of Rotary Club of Agbor District 9141 said that Rotary international was committed to the overall well-being of humility which according to her was why the Interact Club of Monyei Memorial organized the de-worming exercise.
She noted that the essence was to deal with parasites (worms), adding that such worms were harmful to health, adding “They can thwart growth and cause partial blindness.”
On how to prevent worm infestation, she told the pupils to develop the habit of washing of their hands before and after eating as well as washing fruits and uncooked food before eating.
Rotarian Odum commended the sponsor of the drugs, Mrs Stella Agbogun for her selfless and magnanimous gesture.
The President of Interact Club of Monyei Memorial Foundation School noted that it was a great joy to contribute to the development of their immediate environment.
The Head Teacher of Owa Model Primary School, Mrs Bridget Igbedion, while appreciating the Club, said the exercise was timely especially now that most parents were very busy fending for the family.
