ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, JP, has received commendations from the Coalition for Media Politics and Governance (CMPG) for appointing Chief Hon Solomon Ighrakpata as the Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR) and other new members of the Board. In a congratulatory message signed by the Chairman of CMPG, Olorogun Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, and the State Publicity Secretary, Onajite Malcolm Tagbarha, Ighrakpata was described as a perfect gentleman, a team player, and a loyal party man.
The CMPG expressed confidence that Ighrakpata’s wealth of experience in legislative business and as a technocrat will enhance service delivery, particularly in the area of revenue generation for the state, without causing undue burden. The group acknowledged Ighrakpata’s tireless efforts before, during, and after the 2023 election campaigns, which contributed to the party’s landslide victory and the subsequent election of Governor Oborevwori. The CMPG expressed its disappointment when Ighrakpata was unable to secure a seat during the election, as it affected not only him but also the entire PDP political family.
The CMPG extended its gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for recognizing the significant contributions of Ighrakpata by appointing him as the new Chairman of the DBIR. The group commended the governor’s foresight and competence in assembling a vibrant team to realize his M.O.R.E Agenda, aimed at advancing Delta State. The CMPG congratulated Ighrakpata on his new role and emphasized his reputation as a brilliant and result-oriented team player. It highlighted his dedication to the socioeconomic development and well-being of his constituents, along with his efforts in legislative functions, advocacy, youth and women empowerment, and human capacity development during his tenure in the Delta State House of Assembly.
The CMPG wished Ighrakpata greater wisdom, good health, and divine protection as he and his new board members collaborate to enhance revenue generation for Delta State. The newly appointed members of the DBIR are as follows: Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata (Chairman), Barr. Frank Nwumbu (Executive Director, Operations), Collins Iwegbunor (Executive Director, ICT), Hon. Barr. Orezi Esievo (Executive Director, Legal Services), and Hon. Kelly Oghenekevwe (Executive Director, Finance & Administration).
