ASABA/Nigeria: Mrs. Rose Ezewu, the Commissioner for Secondary Education in Delta State, has vehemently refuted ongoing rumours alleging extortion for appointments within the State’s Post Primary Education Board (PPEB).
In a strongly worded statement, she clarified that her office lacks the authority to nominate members for the PPEB, labeling such claims as baseless, defamatory, and devoid of truth.
Describing these allegations as a calculated attempt to tarnish her reputation, Mrs. Ezewu emphasized her commitment to the administration’s M.O.R.E. agenda.
She underlined her dedication to fulfilling the goals of the Ministry of Secondary Education without resorting to any unethical practices that could influence appointments.
Challenging those perpetuating these accusations, the Commissioner called for tangible evidence to substantiate their claims instead of continuing to assail her character.
She firmly asserted that appointments into public offices solely rest with the State Governor, dismissing any suggestion of personal involvement in such processes.
Mrs. Ezewu also dismissed the claims as a ploy to seek financial gain and urged Delta residents to disregard the circulating rumours.
Furthermore, she cautioned media practitioners against disseminating unverified reports, citing the ethical obligations of responsible journalism in the process of information dissemination.
