Ahead of the Nigerian general elections 2015, members of the group known as “concerned Pastors for Nigeria Development” the body of Christ in politics which comprises clerics drawn from all denominations in Delta state as well as other Christians alike, have slated the 29th day of January 2015 to pray for Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa ,Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, Victor Nwokolo and Hon Nicholas Ossai of the Delta North Senatorial district including all the PDP flag bearers in the Delta central Senatorial District of Sapele on Feburary 9th 2015 for them to be successful in their aspirations.
The National Coordinator of the group, Bishop Greatman G.O Nmalagwu, the national presiding Bishop of the Ecumenical Apostolic church Diocese who briefed newsmen in Obiaruku the administrative headquarters of Ukwuani’s local government area of Delta State, said the prayer conference for the persons mentioned above will hold at St Peters Anglican Church Okodi Street Agbor, While urging Christians across Delta State to stand behind Senator Okowa whom he predicted is the next Governor of the State during the Febuary 28th election.
Bishop Nmalagwu advised Christians to collect their permanent voters card so that they can exercise their franchise by voting for the persons he mentioned since it is a sin not to vote and select leaders who you wanted to deliver the dividends of democracy.
He enjoined Christians Nationwide to pray fervently for the next election which he also predicted will be peaceful since the federal government is providing adequate security with accreditation of voters only to be carried out by the voters themselves through INEC automated machines and never to do it by proxy which he said would remove any possible trace of rigging pleading that the usual voters apathy should be removed from their mind because all vote will count this time around, appealing that they come en-mass to vote for Okowa.
Bishop Nmalagwu explained that they at one of their ecumenical meetings held in Asaba, including muslims unanimously endorsed Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the next Governor of Delta State because they have examined him as an honest, humble God fearing, transparent and good leader who will bring prosperity and peace to Deltans since he has the passion to serve and take the good people of Delta State to the promise land by bringing even development to every segment of the society as an epitome of peace and love.
He also enjoined Deltans to shun violence and that all those that will not win in the election should never see it as a do or die affair but embrace the winner so that the state can move forward, stressing that it is only one person that must win at a time.
He said during their in coming sensitizing seminar/awareness campaign in Sapele, (for Delta Central turn) which will be chaired by Chief Ighoyota Amori (the Otota of Mosogar Kingdom), the Delta State House of Assembly members, all PDP flag bearers, all political office holders, chairmen of councils, traditional rulers will be in attendance at the epoch making event.
