Ogbuewu Ossaiuku Okuya

The people of Umueziogoli in Ebedei, Ukwuani LGA has installed Ogbuewu Ossaiuku Okuya as the new Okpala-uku.
In an interview during the installation ceremony, Mr Fred Ogwu the Secretary of the Umueziogoli, and the PRO, Chief Henry Otulugbu said that the new Okpala-uku comes from Umuofonmalu, which comprises four communities of Umuosele Okpu Akoko, Umunyalum Ebedei, Ogbenbor Akoku Uno, and Umueziogoli Ebedei.
While describing the process of installation of an okpala uku, Mr Ogwu said that the four families of Umuofonmalu install the Okpala uku to the Uno Obi, the official meeting point of Okpala uku-in-council.
He said that the four families donated their staff to the Okpala uku as means of transfer of authourities. He noted that thereafter the new Okpala- Uku processed round the town this was followed by other ceremonial activities.
Reacting on the installation, Chief Igba sued for peace and advised the people of Umueziogoli to end its court cases with the Umuyalum community as they both share common accenstral as Umuofonmalu.
Speaking further, Chief Igba challenged Platform Petroleum Limited to embrace peace and recognise the Okpala Uku for peace to reign with its areas of operation.
Hightlight of the occasion was the initiation of six persons as chiefs, they are Chief Louis Ubiame, the Oshamisu 1, Edward Enudi, Chukwudi Uzuakpondu, Andrew Obi, Monday Malagwu, Richard Ojenike, Peter Esombi and Robinson Olise.
