ASABA/Nigeria: The leader of Aniocha South Legislative Arm and Councillor representing Ewulu Ward 9 in Aniocha South Local Government, Delta State, Hon. Patience Igbadi has commended the government of Delta State, for sustaining the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.
Hon. Igbadi gave the commendation when she visited the IDPs at Ewulu (mixed) Grammar School Camp following the flood that ravaged the community.
The Councillor stressed that since the inception of the IDPs, Delta State Government had never relented in taking care of the welfare of the Internally Displaced Persons at Ewulu IDPs camp.
Recounting the genesis of the IDPs, she stated “In prompt response, the Governor directed his Special Assistant on Health Matters and Chairman of Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Isioma Okobah to visit the camp and set up clinic to cater for the health needs of the IDPs”
“The Delta State Government sent representatives from Delta State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to manage the affairs of the camp in the areas of feeding and providing conducive environment for the IDPs to sleep”, he said.
Igbadi also commended the Senator representing Delta North in the Senate, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Hon. Onyeamaechi Mrakpo, Member representing Aniocha South in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Angela Nwaka, the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government, Chief Isaac Anwuzia, the Secretary to Aniocha South Local Government, Hon. Ikechukwu Nwabuokei and other well meaning Deltans for their donation of relief materials to cater for the welfare of the flood victims.
The leader of Aniocha South Legislative Arm said that the flood in the community was receding and appealed to the Government, Federal, State and Local to come to the aid of the flood victims to enable them return to their homes and start life all over again.
According to her, “The federal Government, International Agencies, Local Government and well meaning individuals should come to the rescue of the Ewulu flood victims in resetting them to live a normal life again.”
She also appealed to the Delta State Government to look into the deplorable condition of Ewulu road which has posed serious threats to the lives of community dwellers, even as she urged the government to extend development to the community by renovating the Umomi Primary School and upgrading the Ewulu Health Care Centre.
