OKPANAM/Nigeria: The Councillor representing Okpanam ward 9, DISIEC Unit 20, Hon. Franca Nkem Nwankwo and the Supervising Councillor for Environment in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Emeka Ogbangwo has appreciated their constituents with cash donations.
The duo was accompanied on their thank you visit Obodogba, Ugwunadagbe and Amachai Quarters of the community by the Chairman of PDP ward 9, Engr. Augustine Obiekea, the Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Security Matters, Hon. Anthony Odih, the Special Assistant to Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on Women Mobilisation, Mrs Anthonia Chukwuedo and the Obodogba cell chairman of the party, Ogbueshi Patrick Somayana Obienyi as well Mr Muanya Okafor among other chieftains of the party.
In her remarks, Hon. Nwankwo lauded her constituents for their consistent support, adding that it was gratifying to appreciate the people and celebrate Christmas as well as the new year with them.
Hon. Nkem Nwankwo, who hinted that she had empowered 20 persons especially the youth from the community in 2022 as part of a strategy to take them off the street by adding value to their lives, said that she would upscale the gesture for the benefit of humanity.
She wished the good people of ward 9 a productive 2023, adding that there were indications that the year would be a good year for every Nigerian.
Earlier, the Supervising Councillor for Environment, Hon. Emeka Ogbangwo commended the Governor of the State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah as well as the Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Innocent Esenwezie for giving him the opportunity to serve as supervising councillor.
Hon. Emeka Ogbangwo stated that it was a thing of joy to give back to the people whom they were representing in the council, stressing that the cash donation was designed to celebrate Christmas and New year for the electorates.
In an interview with newsmen, the Chairman of PDP ward 9, Engr Augustine Obiekea, the Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Security Matters, Hon. Anthony Odih , the Isagba of Okpanam, Chief (Dr.)) Paul Nwayalani and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Mobilisation, Mrs. Anthonia Chukwuedo and Mrs Rosemary Amaechi Ofuokwu said that the two councillors had provided effective representation to the community.
They called on the people of the community to always remain peaceful and contribute meaningfully to the upliftment of the community just as Hon. Odih emphasised the need for the people to vote for PDP in the 2023 general election as a result of the massive roads and other infrastructure the administration had brought to Okpanam.
