ASABA/Nigeria: The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Civic Engagement and Civil Society, Activist Rex Anighoro has hailed the Delta State Civil Society Community for partnering with the Delta State Government in combating the global pandemic Corona Virus (COVID-1919).
Activist Rex Anighoro who made this statement Wednesday, 8 April, 2020 in Asaba, Delta State Capital, stated that the global pandemic is a war on humanity and an uncommon crisis, which demands extraordinary response.
The Governor’s aide then called on Civil Society Community, which he said that they are the front line actors and live wire of society to scale up their engagement with Government and every other stakeholder in this shared battle to defeat the common enemy.
He added that only by collective solidarity and coming together would the world defeat and demystify this global health and societal emergency that is spreading human suffering, upending lives and shattering livelihoods.
Anighoro who recently held an online meeting with over thirty five leaders of the Civil Society Community hailed the Community for collaborating with his office to initiate the ‘Civil Society Action on Covid -19, called on them to embark on aggressive awareness advocacy, especially on the “Stay Safe and Healthy at Home” Measures of the World Health Organization.
