COVID-19: Emetulu Lauds Level of Compliance in Delta

ASABA/Nigeria: As the lock-down of Delta as a result of the global pandemic, Covid-19 enters day 3, the member representing Ndokwa West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Charles Emetulu has commended the level of compliance by his constituents.

Emetulu in a chat with newsmen, disclosed that the people of Ndokwa West are complying fully with the directives of the state government and commended his constituents for the level of enlightenment and awareness amongst them about the COVID-19 pandemic.

He observed that the proactive approach to tackling the menace by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was the best solution to coronavirus all over the world as the virus can only find its way into the people through others.

The law maker said, “My people in Ndokwa West are good and serious-minded who take issues of health and well-being very serious.

“They are well enlightened and have majorly keyed into the protocols put in place by the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led COVID-19 Team in the State.

“My joy is that our people have complied with government directives, especially as it pertains to the lock-down, social distancing, hand-washing as all these have led to higher personal hygiene consciousness among the people.

“As an individual, I am happy that we have a well educated and intelligent person who values the lives of the people as our Governor and all that is required is to support his vision and encourage our people to ensure personal hygiene by washing their hands every 20 minutes with soap and water.”

The Lawmaker also praised the efforts of the Ndokwa West COVID-19 Team led by the Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government Council, Sir Ifeanyi Osakwe who has put in place regular enlightenment programmes and updates as it relates to the ravaging pandemic.

He advised against gathering of any sort and admonished that, even in our homes, we should as much as possible practice social distancing.

“While we work with the committees to ensure the safety of our people in this war-like situation, we should let them know that they should engage in hand washing, safe distancing, staying indoors, no self medication, seek medical advice if they feel unwell.

He kicked against politicising activities that has to do with preventing or tackling the COVID-19 pandemic as that would amount to jeopardising the health of our people in these medically critical time.
