ASABA/Nigeria: In view of the lock down looming in Delta State because of the Coronavirus pandemic from April 1-15, the La Vida Foundation has embarked on a campaign to feeding the vulnerable segments of the society during the period of the lock down in Delta State.
The La Vida Foundation is an NGO fighting human trafficking and changing lives positively. The Foundation has come up with the initiative to distribute food to poor households within this period of lock down in Delta.
In her viral video, the La Vida Foundation Founder and CEO, Vida Modelo, appealed to well-to-do individuals, NGOs and corporate entities to support her vision to distribute food to the less privileged families in Delta within the period of shut down; thereby soliciting for contributions in cash to their bank account (Dollar Account: 5071111703; Swift Code: zeibngla; Current Account: 1016420329/Account Name: La Vida Foundation/Zenith Bank) or a visit to their website to know what items they can easily donate.
According to Modelo who is seriously disturbed about how Nigerians would survive hunger staying at home for two weeks, she had to come up with this idea to help poor Deltans to stay safe and survive hunger.
She said, “It will be too difficult for people to obey laws while they are hungry, because when hunger strikes they can’t be able to sustain compliance. This will endanger the larger society in such circumstance.
“So I am calling on NGOs, philanthropists and corporations to assist in providing for the needy in this difficult time. These people cannot stock their homes and so we need to remember them by making food available for them while everywhere is shut down and they are staying at home.
“Above all, we must individually keep praying to God for His mercies, stay indoors, maintain social distancing, wash our hands regularly and keep our environment hygienically clean”, Vida Modelo appealed.
