OGHARA/Nigeria: A Medical practitioner, Dr Joseph Amofagi, has restated fears of a second spike of COVID-19, warning faithful of all religions that the virus is still with us despite the relaxing of lockdown measures.
Dr Amofagi who is the Medical Director of Central Hospital, Oghara, stated this while creating awareness on COVID-19 pandemic at a Christian gathering at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Sapele.
He pointed out that there was urgent need for all to strictly adhere to all precautionary measures spelt out by the state government and the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
Amofagi said that the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Nigeria was rapidly on the increase and the disease was already in Sapele with 77 confirmed cases.
In his words “This is not the time to throw caution to the wind. The battle is not over yet, in fact it is getting tougher.”
