Chief Johnson Opone
KWALE/Nigeria: In continuation of his philanthropic gesture, especially in this time of the lockdown in the state because of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, the President-General of the Ndokwa Neku Union, NNU, Chief Johnson Opone, had donated 100 cartons of Ndomie Noodles to the people of Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to information made available to Ndokwa Reporters, the cartons of Ndomie Noodles are to be added to the palliatives received from the Delta State Food Bank by the local government to cushion the effect of the lockdown, which is entering its fourth week.
The 100 Cartons of Ndomie Noodles Donated to Ndokwa West Local Government Area for the vulnerables
Chief Opone stated that he was moved to add to what the government had supplied to increase the quantity to be shared by the people of the council area, as the government cannot do it alone, but through the collective efforts of the citizens.
He said the items had been delivered to the Chairman of Ndokwa west, Hon Ifeanyi Osakwe, who had joyfully acknowledged delivery of the Ndomie Noodles.
Chief Opone while stressing that the items should be given as directed by the state, thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the efforts of the state government to curtail the spread of the virus, and distribution of food items to all the 25 local governments in the state to be distributed to the identified vulnerables, advised citizens of Ndokwa West, and all Deltans to adhere strictly to government directives on the COVID-19, as the disease is real.
“This 100 cartons of Ndomie Noodles is to support what the Delta State Government had distributed to the Ndokwa West to be shared to those identified to be the vulnerables in the area to cushion the effect of lockdown because of the Coronavirus disease.”
‘And I must thank Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and his team for what they are doing to curb the spread of the disease in the state. I call on the people of Ndokwa west, and all Deltans to help the government by obeying every medical directives to stay safe. The existence of the disease is real.” He said.
Before this latest donation, Chief Johnson Opone had earlier donated bags of rice, yam tubers, and cash to some communities and groups in the Local Government, and outside the Local Government.
