WARRI/Nigeria: As part of preventive effort and measures put in place by the authority of Warri South Local Government Area to battle the CORONAVIRUS plaguing the world, the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi has presented sets of sanitisers, face masks among others to the Nigeria Union of Journalists. Warri Correspondents’ Chapel.
Dr. Tidi on Monday April, 20, while presenting the items to Warri Chapel of NUJ disclosed that the only way to contain the Virus is to show support to people who are at the forefront of educating and giving their best in providing care to those with the pandemic disease, hence journalists duties in covering happening all over can’t be over emphasized as the fight against coronavirus continues.
The Warri South Council Boss commended Journalists across Delta State as well as Warri Correspondents’ Chapel for their resilience and doggedness displayed so far in reporting the COVID 19, he charged them to always protect themselves with the preventive items and maintain social distancing, frequent hand washing with soap, use of face mask and using of hand sanitizer as well as others.
Dr. Tidi urged Warri Chapel to help the council in its advocacy on Coronavirus which the Warri south local government has been championing before an index case was recorded in the state.
Receiving the items donated on behalf of the Chapel, Chairman of the Warri Correspondents’ NUJ, Comrade Okies Vicky appreciated Dr. Tidi for the donation and assured him of effective use of the materials given them.
The Warri Correspondents’ Chairman stressed the need for cooperation among everybody in times like this we are into by keeping safe, Comrade Vicky urged everyone in Warri to adhere to the advocacy against the spread of COVID nineteen in Warri the cosmopolitan council in Delta state.
