ABUJA/Nigeria: The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Engr. Michael Ogheneovo Orugbo, JP, KP, Okporua I, the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, on the historic occasion of his official presentation of the Staff of Office by the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori.
In a goodwill message personally signed by him, Senator Dafinone described the event as a proud and momentous milestone, not only for the people of Udu Kingdom but for the entire Urhobo nation, noting that it symbolizes the continuity of peace, unity, and cultural heritage among the Urhobo people.
He commended the monarch for his exceptional leadership qualities and long-standing record of professional and community service, which, he said, made his ascension to the throne both deserving and inspiring.
“Your ascension to the throne stands as a testament to your outstanding leadership qualities, a successful professional career, and a deep commitment to serving humanity. I am convinced that your reign will bring renewed hope, progress, and stability to Udu Kingdom,” the statement read.
The lawmaker also lauded the people of Udu for their peaceful and transparent process that led to the selection, coronation, and formal presentation of the Staff of Office to their monarch, describing it as a reflection of their maturity, unity, and respect for tradition.
“I commend the great people of Udu Kingdom for the smooth and harmonious process that led to this day. I urge all sons and daughters of Udu to continue to rally around His Majesty in unity and loyalty, so that together, you can build a kingdom that embodies peace, growth, and cultural pride,” he stated.
Senator Dafinone prayed for the Ovie’s reign to be marked by divine wisdom, sound health, and prosperity, noting that Udu Kingdom’s strength lies in its people’s collective commitment to progress and cultural preservation.
“Your Majesty, as you embark on this sacred journey of royal service, I pray that the Almighty God grants you divine wisdom, sound health, and long life. May your reign be marked by peace, prosperity, and unity — and may Udu Kingdom continue to shine as a beacon of progress under your esteemed leadership,” he said.
