ASABA/Nigeria: Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated the Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Sunday Odogu Okpurhe, Uduaka I, on the fourth anniversary of his coronation.
In a message signed by Senator Ede Dafinone, the lawmaker said the monarch’s four years on the throne had been marked, in his assessment, by efforts to promote peace, unity and development within Mosogar Kingdom.
Dafinone also highlighted the role of the traditional institution in preserving cultural heritage and providing leadership within communities, describing the monarch’s counsel and efforts toward bringing different sections of the kingdom together as important aspects of his reign.
The senator said traditional leadership should not only protect the heritage and values of a people but should also provide direction as communities respond to contemporary challenges.
He commended Uduaka I for what he described as his commitment to maintaining cohesion among the people of Mosogar, saying such efforts could strengthen the confidence of residents in the traditional institution.
The congratulatory message came as the monarch marked four years since his ascension to the throne. HRM Sunday Odogu Okpurhe was crowned Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom in August 2022, following the vacancy created by the death of his predecessor, HRM Samson Okirhioboh Imoyi Omene, Udurhie I.
Dafinone joined the people of Mosogar Kingdom and Delta State in marking the anniversary and wished the monarch continued wisdom and strength in the discharge of his traditional responsibilities.
He also prayed for the monarch’s good health and long life, while wishing Mosogar Kingdom sustained peace, harmony and prosperity under his reign.
