ASABA/Nigeria: Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope West and Sapele Local Government Areas of Delta State have pledged to mobilise support for all the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The commitment was made on Sunday during Senator Ede Dafinone’s consultation tour of the two local government areas, where discussions centred on party unity, grassroots mobilisation and the prospects of the APC in Delta Central.
In Ethiope West, the APC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Clement Okorodide, described the senator’s engagement with party leaders and supporters as an important step towards strengthening the party’s mobilisation efforts.
Okorodide assured Dafinone that party members in the area remained united and committed to delivering the APC’s candidates at the polls.
Former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Halims Agoda, expressed optimism that Ethiope West would record a strong electoral performance for the APC. He also commended Dafinone for what he described as effective representation through legislative activities and constituency projects.
The Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Etasherure, called for greater unity among party members, saying the local government had a responsibility to work towards a six-over-six victory.
Also speaking, former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ben Igbakpa, said the political strength of Ethiope West depended largely on the unity of its people. He commended Dafinone for engaging with constituents and pursuing their interests.
A former chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Area, Chief Wilson Omene, urged party leaders to place collective interests above individual ambitions, stressing the importance of coordinated efforts in electoral contests.
He also called for sustained support for President Bola Tinubu and the APC’s candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
The consultation continued in Sapele Local Government Area, where former Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Kingsley Esiso, now an APC leader, joined other stakeholders in calling for support for the party’s candidates.
Esiso described Dafinone as a “Sapele boy” and urged residents and party members to support him and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
“We are in Sapele and this is Sapele. Our leaders have spoken. What they have said is simply that all of us must vote for APC six over six,” he said.
He commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as visible development and infrastructure across the state, while urging political appointees and party leaders to intensify grassroots mobilisation and justify their appointments through contributions to the party’s electoral efforts.
The meeting, held at the Sapele Local Government Council Secretariat, was attended by prominent APC leaders and stakeholders, including the Delta Central APC Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, and the member representing Sapele Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Perkins Umukoro.
Responding to the pledges of support, Dafinone thanked party leaders and members in Ethiope West and Sapele for their commitment, expressing confidence in the APC’s prospects in the 2027 elections.
“All the positions of the All Progressives Congress will be successful in the election come 2027. Six over six,” the senator declared.
Dafinone also described Governor Oborevwori as a capable and hardworking governor.
On the economic challenges confronting Nigerians, the senator appealed for patience with the Tinubu administration, arguing that its ongoing reforms were intended to reposition the country for long-term prosperity.
He further urged APC leaders and members to reach out to eligible voters who were not yet members of the party, engage communities at the grassroots and persuade them to support the APC.
The consultations formed part of Dafinone’s ongoing engagements with party stakeholders across Delta Central as the APC works to consolidate its structures and mobilise support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
