DEFECTION: ADC Delta Replies APC, Says Main Opposition Party Lied

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC has reacted to the claims of the Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC Senator Ovie Omo-Agege media unit, claiming the collapse of the entire structure of the party in the State into the main opposition.
The party, in a press release dated February 3, 2023, made available to www.ndokwareporters.com, and signed by the state Chairman, Engr. Okolie C. Astine and State Secretary, Apst. Yebu Napoleon Ebi respectively debunked the story calling it malicious fabricated and self-serving, by individuals who are bent to tarnish the image and integrity of the party.
“The attention of the Delta State leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by its state chairman Engr. Okolie .C. Austine has been drawn to the malicious and fabricated publication released by the Delta State Media group of the All Progressive Congress (APC) over the purported defection and collapsing of ADC Delta State structure into the APC.”
“We hereby disassociate from the said publication by the self-serving individuals who are bent on tarnishing the image and integrity of our great party.”
The statement, while assuring the party members, supporters and various communities in the state, on their preparedness to emerge victorious on February 25 and March 11, 2023 election, said the party is fully intact, as disciplinary actions have been melted to the elements in the party who had been distractors.
“We state categorically that ADC Delta State and its candidates are fully intact and busy campaigning across the various communities in Delta State to emerge victorious as the only credible alternative political party in the forthcoming general election”
“The said defectors have been expelled and sanctioned by the National Leadership of the party long time ago over anti-party activities and are not recognized as members of ADC in Delta State.”
“It is quite unfortunate that some unscrupulous individuals who have been sanctioned by the party leadership are claiming to represent the interest of the entire Delta ADC structure and the opposition APC in Delta State is taking them seriously.”
It called on the general public and supporters to disregard the publications, as it called on the opposition APC to retract the statement.
“We, therefore, call on the general public to disregard such devilish and fake adverts as ADC Delta State is not and can never be for sale. We remain focused and determined in delivering dividends of democracy to every nook and cranny of the state when elected come the 2023 general election.”
“We hereby call on Delta APC leadership to retract the said publication within 48 hours or face legal action on deformation of character.”
