WARRI/Nigeria: The Itsekiri Political Advancement Front, IPAF, Has Said The Itsekiri People Are Studying The Profile Of All Aspirants For The 2023 Gubernatorial Election In Delta State And Will Only Support Candidate Dispose To Itsekiri Interest.
IPAF Made The Position Known Recently In Warri In A Statement Signed By Comrades Mene Abugewa, Blessing Tuoyo And Prosper Esigbone, Chairman, National Secretary And Delta Central Coordinator Of IPAF Respectively.
The Statement Said That At The Right Time, Itsekiri Would Throw Their Weight Behind Any Candidate That Had The Interest Of Warri Kingdom At Heart And Ready To Give Indigenous Itsekiri People In Delta Central Senatorial District A Sense Of Belonging.
It Described Itsekiri People As The Most Accommodating Ethnic Group In Delta State But Warned That The Disposition Should Not Be Taken For Granted By Anyone Or Tribe Claiming Ownership Of Warri Constituency Ii.
The Statement Also Warned Against Reckless Statement Aimed At Disparaging The Name Of The Olu Of Warri By Anyone Or Group.
“We Submit Therefore That We Are Carefully Studying All The Governorship Aspirants In Delta State Ahead Of The 2023 General Elections And In Due Time, We Will Support Only The Aspirant That Have The Interest Of Warri Kingdom At Heart And Ready To Give The Indigenous Itsekiris In Delta Central Their Due Political Space.
“The Itsekiri People Are The Most Accommodating And Receptive Tribe In Delta State And This Good Virtue Has Been Taken For Granted.
“While We Throw Our Unalloyed Support To The Executive Governor And The President Of Federal Republic Of Nigeria In Their Determination To Finish Strong, We Will Not Tolerate Any Attempt By Individuals Or Groups To Make Reckless Statement Against The Reverend Warri Monarch,” The Statement Said.
