OBIARUKU: In preparation for the 28 years anniversary of the creation of Delta State, come August 27, 2019, a Christian body, Christian Community Platform (CCP) is organising a one month prayers session for the state in commemoration of its creation.
Making this known, The BOT Chairman of the group, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu , and Presiding Bishop of the True Worshippers Assembly Inc, said “Delta state was created on 2 7th August, 1991 out of the then Bendel State. By the leading of the Holy Spirit Christian Community platform CCP is having a one month fasting and prayer all through this month of August for the state.”
He explained that the prayer conference “is tagged pray and seek for the peace and prosperity of Delta.
“If there is a true way to show that we love Delta state and the works the present administration is doing, there is need to keep praying ceaselessly for the state mostly this month of August the state was created.”
Bishop Nmalagu charged Christians irrespective of denominations to endeavour to join in this one month prayer and fasting for the state. .
He maintained that “we have been charged in 1st Timothy 2: 1-2 to be praying for the government and people in authority. Hence, Apostle Paul said,”AUGUST MARKS THE BIRTH OF DELTA STATE PRAY FOR IT. ”
He pointed out that as they fast and pray for the state “we should teach and encourage every inhabitant of the state to avoid anything capable of causing violence, destruction of life and property.
As the state is experiencing massive devepments, the Executive, Judiciary and legislative arms need wisdom from God, His leading and protections to enable them peacefully play their roles.”
He affirmed that there “is no gain saying that the present administration has put in place a formidable team of EXCO members appointed across the state drawn from well experienced men and women that will faithfully and dedicatively join hands with our amiable governor Sen Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to further move the state forward..”
He stated that the prayer and fasting started on 1st August
but the one of this month is very special as it is the month the state was created.
“We should encourage our youths , political, non politicians, civil servants, church leaders and members to join in this prayer and support by doing things that will assist the present administration in continuing her good works across the state. We shall round off the prayer programme, with an in gathering service on 30th August 2019 at Kwale. The opening ceremony took place at Iseluku in Aniocha North local government local government Area of Delta”.
