Delta Activist Mulade Denounces Bloodshed, Calls for Collective Efforts towards Peace

WARRI/Nigeria: Comrade Mulade Sheriff, a prominent peace and development advocate hailing from Delta State, has issued a resounding condemnation following the barbaric and senseless killing of soldiers reportedly engaged in a peacekeeping mission in Okuama, a Delta community embroiled in a dispute with its neighbor, Okoloba.

Expressing heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Army for the loss of its personnel, he urged both the Okuama and Okoloba communities to lay down their arms. He called upon the military high command and the Delta state government to promptly initiate an investigation into the incident and ensure that those responsible for this heinous act face justice.

He implored the conflicting parties to prioritize peace for the collective advancement and prosperity of Okuama and Okoloba, emphasizing their shared heritage and common lineage. He cautioned against succumbing to the influence of warmongers and instigators who thrive on communal and ethnic discord, underscoring the imperative of rejecting their divisive tactics.

As a respected leader within the Ijaw community, Comrade Sheriff reiterated his fervent appeal to the brethren of Okuama and Okoloba, urging them to embrace reconciliation and foster an environment conducive to peaceful coexistence. With a rich history of intermarriages and cultural ties, he implored both communities to embrace dialogue and reconciliation as the pathway to lasting harmony.

“It is worthy of note that Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the executive governor of Delta State, needs peace to attract investors to grow the economy of Delta State, and create employment opportunities for our teeming youths.” He said.
