Delta APC Applauds Tantita Security for Boosting Oil Asset Protection, Youth Empowerment

All Progressives Congress (APC)

ASABA/Nigeria: The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has hailed Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its “outstanding and patriotic” role in safeguarding Nigeria’s oil infrastructure, curbing crude oil theft, and addressing youth unemployment across the Niger Delta, particularly in Delta State.

In a statement signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, and issued on July 12, 2025, the Delta APC commended the leadership of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, whose operational strategies and grassroots-driven surveillance system have significantly curtailed oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism.

“The vision, courage and operational expertise of Tompolo have repositioned the fight against oil theft and are yielding verifiable results,” the party stated. “Tantita Security has drastically reduced illegal oil activities, secured vital assets, and contributed meaningfully to Nigeria’s daily oil output.”

According to the APC, these gains are crucial to national economic stability, especially at a time when the country requires increased oil revenues to fund developmental programs. The party emphasized that the work of Tantita aligns perfectly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and complements Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, which prioritizes peace, security and inclusive growth in Delta State.

Beyond its security operations, Tantita Security was also praised for directly tackling youth restiveness by creating legitimate employment opportunities for thousands of young people across oil-producing communities. The party highlighted the company’s role in engaging youths in surveillance, marine operations, and community liaison roles, initiatives that have reduced cultism, militancy, and criminality.

“These jobs have not only taken youths off the streets but have also injected cash into local economies, empowered small businesses, and improved household livelihoods,” the statement said. “Tantita has given our young people dignity, purpose and a new identity as protectors of national wealth.”

The party said that the strategic engagement of local communities by Tantita has increased public confidence in the federal and state governments, with positive implications for electoral outcomes. It noted that communities experiencing improved security and economic activity are more likely to support a party committed to their welfare and sustainable development.

“As we move toward the 2027 elections, we believe these achievements give Delta APC a strong advantage,” the statement continued. “A peaceful and economically engaged youth population is an asset for mobilizing support and strengthening our grassroots reach.”

The APC called on traditional rulers, youth leaders, community stakeholders, private sector actors, and security agencies to sustain their support for Tantita’s operations, describing the protection of national oil assets as a collective responsibility that requires unity and vigilance.

Reaffirming its commitment to partnerships that advance peace, development, and security, Delta APC declared its readiness to deliver victory for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and all APC candidates across the state and the country in 2027.

“Together, we will continue to build a nation anchored on peace, security and economic growth for the benefit of present and future generations,” the statement concluded.
