Delta APC Meets, Seeks for Unity of All Aggrieve, See PDP as Main Enemy

UGHELLI/Nigeria:  In order to reposition the party to be strong in the state, the members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has vowed to bring all aggrieve members of the party to settlement, and have a united family.

Speaker after speaker at an enlarge event which brought the entire party machinery in the state to meet in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Government, and the home town of Olorogun O’tegar Emerhor, said the various leaders, factions and group crises in the party has not done the party any good in the state.

Speaking, Chief Hycinth Enuma said, that the meeting was conveyed to call the main actors to come together to seek ways they can unite the party which is the only way to have a united force, as without unity they will only be wasting their time.

“As an elder in the party, the Idea strucked me and I decided to call the main actors and I spoke with them individually and invited them to come together to seek ways we can unite the party because without unity we are wasting our time”. He said.

“It was wise to meet with all the aggrieved leaders, and there I told them all that, they should put all their personal interest aside and let us seek the interest of the party first before anything so that we can win elections.”

“They all agreed to my words and they fixed these day. Unfortunately some of them are not here. They pulled out at the dyeing minute, but I can assure you that pulling out is a temporary one because, I am pursuing them and until they come back, I will never rest.” He assured.

The former speaker Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, who was also in attendance, told the party faithfuls that none of the leaders of the party in the state will rest until total unity is achieved.

“None of the leaders will rest until this party become the party that is holding this state and as well as the national level”.

Speaking in the everyday pidgin English he said, “I never see for house when them win election when the house dey divided’ so am appealing to all to be united, we cannot be in a party without winning elections. We must stand to unite because the Holy Book said how beautiful it is in a house when brothers are in unity”.

Olorogun O’tegar Emerhor, however reminded the party members that they have only one enemy in the state, which is the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“We as APC members have one enemy and which is the PDP and until we kill that enemy, we shall never rest our oars”. He said.

“I am happy to be here and with this movement of unity from one senatorial district, they will know that we are all working together as one to fight our common enemy unlike before when there was no unity in APC”.

Prof. Pat Utomi condemned the high level of poverty in the state, and said this have to be changed, as he affirmed that unity must be achieved in the party.

“As you all know, the poverty incident in Delta State is one of the worst and we must change it”.

“And for those who are not here today, whether they like it or not we must unite and we are together now and those outside will come in to join us the unity train”.

For the minister of Petroleum, State, Dr. Ibe Kachukwu disclosed that the APC in the state will concentrate on grassroots empowerment to move everyone from poverty to wealth.

“This is a social movement, everytime we gather we talk about the State House but the State House is not the issue, but empowering our people from poverty to wealth creation”

“If we cannot empower our people we may have nothing to sell as a party. It is the process of that movement that will make us to get to the state house which is the concept of unity”

“The family concept of unity in the APC is the only key and as we move from one senatorial district to the other, we walk ahead results because the individuals to do the work are on ground.

While appealing to other leaders of the APC to join hands with the call of unity, he disclosed that the concept of unity in the party has made him, and others to work, unlike in the past.

“We are still working hard to bring back those that are left behind, because all of us must come together in one purposeful group so that we can accomplish the mission ahead of us as a party.” He asserted.
