Delta Assembly Kicks Off Third Session with Call for Renewed Commitment

ASABA/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Guwor Emomotimi Dennis, has charged lawmakers to strengthen unity and rededicate themselves to delivering quality service to the people as the Third Session of the 8th Assembly got underway on Tuesday, 24th June, 2025.

In his welcome address, Speaker Dennis thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, for gracing the Assembly’s Thanksgiving Service and reception marking the end of the Second Session, describing their presence as refreshing and inspiring.

He also appreciated former Deputy Governor Burutu Otuaro, members of the National Assembly, the judiciary, traditional rulers, party leaders, government officials, clergy, Assembly staff, and the media for their support and participation in the anniversary activities.

Speaker Dennis hailed the Planning Committee for what he called one of the most seamless and grand anniversary celebrations in the history of the Assembly. He praised his colleagues for their team spirit and urged them to place the people’s interest above personal or political considerations.

“As we begin this Third Session, let us remain focused, united, and deliberate in partnering with the Executive to deliver the dividends of democracy,” Dennis said. “The expectations of our constituents remain high. We must not fail them.”
