Delta Assembly Marks 2nd Anniversary with Football Match, Thanksgiving Service

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State House of Assembly is set to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the 8th Assembly with a series of events aimed at fostering unity, service, and community spirit.

In a statement titled “Celebrating Unity and Service”, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Nkem Nwaeke, announced that lawmakers will take on members of the Delta State Executive Council in a novelty football match this Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba. The match is designed to promote teamwork, camaraderie, and healthy competition among key players in the Delta State development agenda.

The celebration will continue on Sunday, June 22, 2025, with a special thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region 34 Headquarters, Unity Model Parish, Asaba. Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, who represents Warri South West Constituency, will lead members of the 8th Assembly at the service, scheduled for 10 a.m.

Dignitaries from within and outside the state are expected at the service, which will be followed by a reception at the Legislators’ Quarters, Okpanam Road, Asaba. Nwaeke said the event will provide lawmakers the opportunity to thank God for two years of dedicated service to the people of Delta State.

He urged Deltans to join in the celebration as the 8th Assembly remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the welfare of all.
