Delta Assembly Screens, Confirms Okowa’s DSIEC Nominees

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State House of Assembly on Wed newest screened and subsequently confirmed the appointment of nominees of Delta State Independent Electoral Commission in a less than three-hour sitting.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had after signing into law the amended bill establishing the commission on Tuesday, forwarded the names of commissioners to the assembly.

But the house at Wednesday sitting chaired by its speaker, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, in three hours screened and confirmed their appointment.

Among those confirmed by the house are; Chief Mike Ogbodu, a former police commissioner as DSIEC Chairman, Mrs. Light Oritseweyinmi Diden,  who is the wife of the member representing Warri North Constituency, Hon. Michael Diden also known as Ejele, who is the governor eye in the DTHA.

Others are: Mr. Fredrick Oduje Ulakpa, Mr. Friday Edmund Siemode, Mr. James Eruorhevwameme Umukoro, Mr. Gregory Chukwuma Edeme and Mrs. Yvonne Ovuevuo Wagbatsoma.
