Delta Assembly Service Commission Reaffirms Commitment to Staff Development

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the capabilities of its workforce, as part of a broader effort to strengthen the legislative process in the state.

Acting Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Sunday Ebireri, reaffirmed this commitment while inaugurating a two-day training programme for commission staff. He praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, for their unwavering support in achieving these goals.

The capacity-building workshop, themed “Effective Management and Role of Parliamentary Staff in Achieving the MORE Agenda of the Present Administration in Delta State,” aims to equip legislative staff with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the demands of the current administration. Mr. Ebireri emphasized that maintaining high standards among the staff is crucial for the legislature’s success.

“The training is essential for preparing our workforce to meet the demands of the administration and deliver on campaign promises,” said Mr. Ebireri. He highlighted the importance of continuous professional development for staff to enhance service delivery within the state legislature.

Mr. Ebireri encouraged participants to fully engage in the workshop to optimize their performance in their respective roles. He reiterated the commission’s responsibility for the ongoing training and retraining of staff.

In their remarks, board members including Dr. Philomena Oyearone and Secretary Mr. Austine Uwasike, urged participants to seize this opportunity for self-improvement, which aligns with the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.

Participants such as Mr. Uche Nwanze and Mr. Emmanuel Aninye expressed optimism about the positive impact the training would have on their professional lives.

The workshop features lectures by various experts from Kings Class Consulting Services, aiming to provide comprehensive capacity building for the legislative staff.
