ABOH/Nigeria: The people of Ossisa in Ndokwa East Local Government Area, have commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his Delta Cares initiative which seeks to alleviate the hardship caused by coronavirus.
The Delta Cares program, our correspondent gathered, targets the elderly that falls above the ages of 60 and the vulnerable people in the communities; both urban and rural areas.
A comprehensive list of 207 beneficiaries from the six quarters in Ossisa was pasted at the town hall.
Speaking at the occasion, the Ossisa Youth Chairman, Mr Isaac Nwaokolo, thanked the governor for the initiative, saying that the funds would go a long way to alleviating poverty in the community.
Also, Mr Joseph Osakwe, the youth leader of Umu-Osimilli Quarters, in Ossisa, thanked the governor for making the program a reality.
A beneficiary from Umu-Eleke Quarters in the community, Mr Edward Obiajulu, said that the support was timely and thanked the governor for the initiative.
