ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Government has embarked on massive clampdown on defaulters of Ground Rent by Land and Property owners from 2011 to date.
A statement signed by the Director of Information, Mr Paul Osahor stated that all private or corporate land owners across the State that fall within the stated period, are advised to make payment into the following banks which include, Access Bank, with Account Name, Spatial Decesion Support System (SDSS) Account, Account No: 0710011916; Eco Bank, with Account Name, Spatial Decesion Support System (SDSS) Account, Account No: 0753064356; Heritage Bank Limited, with Account Name, Spatial Decesion Support System (SDSS) Account, Account No: 5600002491 and Fidelity Bank Plc, with Account Name, Spatial Decesion Support System (SDSS) Account, Account No: 5030067132.
Others are First City Monument Bank, with Account Name, Spatial Decesion Support System (SDSS) Account, and Account No: 3765030012; First Bank Plc, with Account Name, Spatial Decesion Support System (SDSS) Account, Account No: 2030512915; Guaranty Trust Bank, with Account Name, Spatial Decesion Support System (SDSS) Account, Account No: 0219567285 and Sterling Bank Plc, with Account Name, Spatial Decesion Support System (SDSS) Account and Account No. 0056412571; United Bank for Africa, Account Name, Spatial Decesion Support System (SDSS) Account, and Account No. 1019511666.

The statement further stated that Government will not hesitate to take all necessary legal actions including but not limited to either seal-up, outright seizure, revocation of title, reallocation, or outright disposal of the properties of defaulters.
It also said that all those who had made payment were expected to proceed to the Ground Rent Desk at the Ministry of Lands and Surveys, Ibusa Road, Asaba or the Circle Office at the Ministry of Lands and Surveys, Warri-Sapele Road, by Enerhen Junction, Warri with proof of payment for acknowledgment purposes to avoid being sanctioned.
Private and corporate land owners were advised to visit the Ground Desk Rent at the Deeds Registry of the Ministry of Lands and Surveys, Asaba or contact the Regional Circle offices to pick up their Demand Notices to enable them clear their outstanding Ground Rent and that member of the public should be guided.
