Delta Commissioner Commends Okpai, Investors’ Cordial Relationship

ABOH/Nigeria: The Commissioner for Lands and Surveys Hon Chika Ossai has commended the peace existing between Okpai Community and investors in the area.
Hon Ossai gave the commendation at the weekend when he visited the Igwe of Okpai, Igwe Goldring Ugbome to redeem the land the monarch donated to the State government for the construction of a proposed one thousand one hundred and fifty mega watts substation at Okpai.
The Commissioner, who appreciated the gesture of Igwe of Okpai urged the various communities across the State to emulate Okpai monarch.
He disclosed that the Federal Government has awarded the contract to a competent transmission company, adding that work on the site will  commence soon.
The Commissioner said the completion of the substation will not only create job  pportunities for the teeming youths in the area but will also ensure steady power supply in the Ndokwa axis.
He reminded the people of Okpai of the advantages of speaking with one voice as a   community and appealed to them not to allowed mischievous people to cause crisis between them and investors in their domain.
Hon Ossai said the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa was very pleased with the peace that had returned to Okpai, which, according to him was the reason behind the influx of investors to the area and informed them that the state government will continue to engage the youth in the area in her various empowerment programmes.
He urged the various companies in the area to always remember their host communities and ensure good working relationship.
The Igwe thanked the Federal and state Governments for the choice of Okpai for citing the substation.
