OLEH/Nigeria: The continued security breach between the two communities of Igbide and Emede in Isoko South Local Government Area of delta State, had become worrisome, and to forestall further carnage, the local Government Authourity had imposed a 24 hours curfew in the area.
In a Press Statement, the Council announced through the Press Secretary to the Local Government Chairman, Mr. Okah Akpotha Fidelis, arising from the emergency security meeting on the recent killings, arson and criminality in Igbide and Emede communities it was resolved that 24 hours indefinite curfew in Igbide and Emede communities from 6pm on Saturday 11, December, 2020.
Action was also acted against the traditional leadership o the two communities, as Salaries of Ovies of Igbide and Emede, was suspended and their staff of office to be withdrawn.
While declaring the president-General of Igbide clan wanted, it stated that the Government ceases to recognise President Generals of Igbide and Emede communities, and the companies operating within the area will be communicated with.
