Delta Community Honours Two Illustrious Sons as Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine, Chief Chris Onah Receive Prestigious Traditional Titles

UTAGBA-UNO/Nigeria: It was a day of pride and celebration in Umuseti Community, Utagba Uno, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, as two of its distinguished sons,  Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine and Chief Chris Onah, were conferred with revered traditional titles in recognition of their service, integrity, and leadership.

The investiture ceremony, held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the historic Obi Ndueze, the ancient traditional square of the Utagba Uno people, drew eminent sons and daughters from all seven quarters of the community, alongside members of the Inotu Council, who presided over the conferment.

Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine received the highly respected title of Eze Ajieh of Utagba Uno, a position historically reserved for men of unquestionable character and outstanding contributions to the preservation of the community’s heritage. The title, once held by notable figures such as the Rear Admiral (Rtd.) Chief Mike Onah, symbolizes honour, wisdom, and service to the people.

In a release on behalf of the Umuseti Community and the Umu Ezeti Town Hall Platform, the Coordinator, Mr. Chuks Ododo, congratulated Ogbuiji Kaine, describing the honour as a well-deserved recognition of his long-standing commitment to community development. Ododo urged the new Eze Ajieh to uphold the principles of fairness and justice, protect communal lands from encroachment, and promote unity among the people.

On the same occasion, Chief Chris Onah was installed as the Eze Ugo I of Utagba Uno, a title reserved for leaders who have demonstrated humility, service, and an unwavering dedication to the growth of their community. His installation was greeted with cheers from friends, family, and community members, who described the moment as both historic and inspirational.

In his goodwill message, Ododo commended Chief Onah’s humility and steadfast service, saying his elevation was a reflection of the people’s confidence in his leadership. He called on the new Eze Ugo I to continue leading with courage and wisdom, fostering harmony and shared prosperity among all quarters of Utagba Uno.

Both titles, deeply rooted in the heritage and governance structure of the Utagba Uno Kingdom, signify a renewed call to service and a reaffirmation of traditional leadership as a pillar of communal development.

For the Umuseti Community, the investiture of their two sons is a moment of immense pride. It underscores the enduring value of integrity, hard work, and commitment to the collective good, virtues that define the true essence of leadership in Ndokwa land.

As the celebrations continued into the evening, the air in Utagba Uno was filled with joy and gratitude. The community prayed for the new traditional titleholders to lead with wisdom and grace, and to continue uplifting the legacy of the Utagba Uno people through unity, progress, and service.
