Delta Councillors’ Forum Embarks on Statewide Tour for Grassroots Development

ASABA/Nigeria: The seven-member executive of the Delta State Local Government Councils Legislative Leaders’ Forum has launched a statewide familiarization tour to engage councillors across the 25 local government councils and mobilize support for sustainable grassroots development.

Led by the State Coordinator and Leader of Warri South West Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Samuel Ekpemupolo, the team commenced the tour in Delta North senatorial district, visiting nine local councils, including Aniocha North and South, Ika North East and South, Oshimili North and South, Ndokwa East and West, and Ukwuani.

Addressing councillors in the various legislative chambers, Ekpemupolo emphasized the importance of direct engagement with colleagues to foster unity and collaboration for impactful governance. He highlighted the legislative arm’s pivotal role in driving good governance and development at the grassroots level, stressing that unity of purpose would enable the forum to champion a common vision effectively.

“Fellow councillors, I extend warm felicitations to you all as we continue to work together for the progress and development of our great state, Delta,” Ekpemupolo stated. He urged councillors to uphold principles of transparency, accountability, and effective representation, noting that their constituents depend on them for tangible progress.

Ekpemupolo also called for continued collaboration between legislative arms, local government chairmen, and stakeholders to advance growth and development, commending the councillors for their dedication to governance and encouraging them to remain united for a better Delta State.

During the visit, leaders of the legislative arms in the nine councils reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, unity, and prosperity in their jurisdictions. They expressed gratitude to the forum’s leadership for the familiarization tour, which they described as a step toward fostering good governance and development at the grassroots.

The State Coordinator was joined on the tour by other key forum executives, including Secretary and Leader Oshimili South, Hon. Michael Okonji; Public Relations Officer and Leader Isoko South, Olokor Friday Abizire; Treasurer and Leader Ethiope East, Emmanuel Emojeya; Delta North Coordinator and Leader Ika North East, Dikenwosi Eric; Delta South Coordinator and Leader Warri South, Joy Nomeme Ejumudo; and Delta Central Coordinator and Leader Uvwie Legislative Arm, Rire Okejera Uruesheyi.

The forum’s tour will continue across other senatorial districts, strengthening ties and aligning efforts to achieve the shared goal of grassroots development in Delta State.
