ASABA/Nigeria: The Director-General of the Delta State Orientation Bureau, Mr Eugene Uzum, has commended the Leadership/Members of the Anti- Cult Volunteer Corps (AVC) for their cooperation in order to eradicate Cultism.
Uzum, a lawyer, said this during an interactive session with the Anti-cult group. He explained that Cultism is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the fabrics of the Society.
He emphasized that the damage done by its members cannot be quantified in terms of untimely death of Youths’ cut down from their prime, as a result of their unwholesome activities.
The Orientation DG said that the activities of AVC would help to promote the peace and security agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, to build a stronger Delta.
He advised youths to be weary of friends who indulge themselves in drugs, smoking of India helm, rape, arm robbery, kidnapping and other social vices that is enemical to the growth of the society.
Responding, the leader of the group, Ambassador Austyne Emu, said that they were delighted to partner with the present government of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to eradicate the surge.
Ambassador Emu said in order to contribute their own quota, they thad to embark on Door-to-Door Campaign to enlighten them about the evil of Cultism, mounting of bill board, printing of stickers and fliers, including “Anti-Cult Match” to mark the International Peace Day.
